PennDOT Roadwork Schedule- Week of June 29-July 6

The following roadwork is scheduled for this week on Interstate 81. Short Term I-81-NB/SB-Lackawanna-Central Scranton Expressway to Business Rt. 6- Sweeping Operation – Shoulders -Monday, July 2 to Friday, July 6- 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Exit 170B (Wilkes-Barre) to Exit 164 (Nanticoke) – Pothole patching.  There will be a single lane.- Monday, July 9 to Thursday, July 19- 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Special Events Exit 182: Baseball is back: Please note there will be traffic issues at Davis Street, I-81 and Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, at the beginning and end of the games. Interstate 81 Mahanoy to McAdoo Resurfacing Project

PennDOT will begin construction on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County this summer.  A resurfacing project on northbound and southbound Interstate 81 between the Mahanoy City Exit Exit 134 and the McAdoo Exit 138 is scheduled for late July 2018.  The roadwork is expected to be done at nighttime.

Interstate 81 Gordon to Frackville Resurfacing Project

PennDOT will begin construction on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County later this summer.  A resurfacing project on northbound and southbound Interstate 81 between the Gordon Exit 119 and the Frackville Exit 124 is scheduled for late July 2018.  The roadwork is expected to be done at nighttime.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is urging residents and visitors to avoid driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol ahead of the Independence Day enforcement mobilization that runs June 25 through July 4, 2018. While the number of alcohol-impaired driving arrests and crashes have been trending downward in recent years, the occurrences of drug-impaired driving continue to increase statewide. Motorists are reminded to never drive impaired by illegal substances and always follow the warnings listed on any prescription or over-the-counter medications, as some medicines can impair driving abilities. Governor Wolf, Secretary Richards Outline Statewide ‘Resurface PA’ Initiative

Governor Tom Wolf was joined by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Secretary Leslie S.
