I-81 Split *UPDATE* – Please be advised that there will be a traffic switch on I-81 starting Wednesday night, July 13, 2016 near Exit 175. A couple miles north of the current split near Exit 175, contractors will implement a similar traffic pattern where the road will split, directing motorists into two lanes separated by a temporary concrete barrier. Motorists will need to stay in their lanes as crews will be doing work in the area between the two lanes. There will still be two lanes of traffic going northbound through this area. This split is expected to be in place until next year.
