PennDOT Roadwork Schedule – Week of October 23-30, 2015

SPECIAL NOTE:

The roundabout from I-81 Southbound at Exit 178, is now open. William St, is now closed.

The following work is scheduled for this week on Interstate 81:

Short Term Projects

I-81 N: Crack sealing, manual patching and bridge deck repairs in the north bound direction from the Luzerne County line to the concrete pavement area north of the Central Scranton Expressway.  North bound right lane closed on Monday 10/26 from Davis Street Exit 182. North bound left lane closed from Davis St, Exit 182 to M.M. 185.5 (concrete pave area) Tuesday 10/27. North bound right lane closed from Davis St. Exit 182 to M.M. 185.5 (concrete pave area) on Wednesday 10/28. Lane closure length approximately 3.0 miles per day.

I-81-NB-Luzerne-between 143-145-Bridge Repair-10/26/2015-10/29/2015 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-81 North and South bound between Exit 188 (Throop/ Dunmore) and 194 (Clarks Summit) starting Tuesday, October 27 through Friday, October 30 crews will be installing pipe liners. Contractors will be working from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-81 Split. As of Thursday, October 15, 2015 motorists head north on I-81, they will need to make a lane decision approximately one mile before Exit 175 (Pittston).  Motorists in the right lane will be able to exit at 175.  Motorists in the left lane will not be able to access the exit because a contractor will be working in the area between the two lanes. The split pattern will be in place until June 2016.  The entire project is scheduled to be complete by summer of 2017.

81 – Luzerne County – between Exit 180 (Moosic) to Exit 175 (Dupont/Pittston) there will be lane shifts due to reconstruction work to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport Exit. For Safety tips on roundabouts contact Michael Taluto at mtaluto@pa.gov. Anticipated completion for the project is July 2016.
