PennDOT Roadwork Schedule- Week of June 26 to July 4

The following is the roadwork scheduled for this week on Interstate 81.

Short Term Projects:

I-81-Lackawanna County- Exit 211 (Lenox) to Exit 219 (Gibson)- Spray patching.  Work area will involve approximate 3 mile lane closures.  Monday, June 29 to Thursday, July 2.

I-81-Lackawanna County- Exit 191 to Exit 206- Median Mowing-Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 3, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

I-81-Lackawanna County- Exit 185 (Central Scranton Expressway)  to Exit 188 (Dunmore)- Sweeping Operation – Shoulder restriction- slow moving. Monday June 29 to Wednesday, July 1, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Special Events:

The SWB Rail Riders will have home games on the following dates and times. There may be traffic delays at the beginning and end of each game near I-81 Exit 182 (Davis Street/Montage Mountain Road):

Friday, June 26 at 7:05 pm
Saturday, June 27 at 7:05 pm
Sunday, June 28 at 1:05 pm
Saturday, July 4 at 7:05 pm

Next Concerts at the Montage Mountain Pavilion are June 27 at 6:45 pm and July 4 at 7:00 pm.

Long Term Projects:

I-81 – Lackawanna County – between Exit 180 (Moosic) to Exit 175 (Dupont/Pittston) there will be lane shifts due to reconstruction work to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport Exit including widening of bridges on Interstate 81, rehabilitation of existing bridges over Lidy Road, State Route 315 (Airport Road), and Plane Street, replacement of the pedestrian bridge just north of the Avoca Exit, construction of new exit and entrance ramps, three new roundabouts, construction of two new bridges, and construction of a new roadway. Anticipated completion – November 2015. I-81 – Luzerne County – Exit 178A (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport) and Exit 178B (Avoca) have now been combined into one exit, Exit 178 (Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport/Avoca). I-81 – Luzerne County – between Exit 175 (Pittston) to Exit 170 (Wilkes-Barre) there are lane shifts due to reconstruction work on several bridges in both northbound and southbound directions.
