People who have been killed or injured in highway crashes will be remembered at a candlelight vigil on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. in front of the Lackawanna County Courthouse in Scranton.
Part of the World Day of Remembrance observance, the first-time local event is dedicated to the victims of traffic crashes. It will also pay tribute to their families and to emergency responders and others who deal with the traumatic aftermath of road deaths and injuries.
City resident Eileen Miller, whose son, Paul, was killed in a 2010 crash in Monroe County, and county Commissioner Patrick O’Malley are co-chairmen of the event.
